On back is a typed yellow page which states , "MARY WASHINGTON GIRLS COMPETE IN BUYING WAR STAMPS, The junior class wins another award for the purchase of War Savings Stamps and Bonds in the competition which is being conducted by students at Mary Washington College in Fredericksburg, VA. At present the freshmen and the sophomores are tied for the lead, with the seniors trailing close behind. Behind the booth hangs the "Minute Man" flag which the college was awarded last year when 95 percent of the student body bought Stamps and Bonds regularly. Kneeling, left to right, are Miss Mary Doswell, Richmond, and Miss Phyllis Dunbar of Elmira Heights, N.Y. Left to right, standing, are Misses Grace Bailey, Richmond; Nancy Aitcheson, Alexandria, and Kathleen Harrison, Meadowview, Va." There is also a Judson Smith Studio Stamp with "NOVE 23 1943" and in pencil below is also written "1943."
